Everyone has a right to wear what one likes, says Minissha Lamba

Ludhiana Blender’s Pride Magical Nite Tour brought to the town a galaxy of stars which included petite and beautiful actress Minissha Lamba besides well-known designers like Vikram Phadnis and Mandira Wirk.

In town, to promote the tour, the stars shared their opinions with LNL.

Minissha Lamba: The Dili kee Kudi who loves her Punjabi roots wowed the audience with the ethereal beauty in Yahaan. In this film, Minissha played a Kashmiri girl and backed by the success of this film the beauty, who has a major in English Honours from Miranada House, was seen in films like Corporate, Anthony Kaun Hai, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd, Heyy Babyy (special appearance), Dus Kahaniyaan, Anamika, and Shaurya.

The beauty has now de-glamed for her role in yet to be released Shayam Benegal’s “Well done Abba,” which will also star Boman Irani. “This film is a satire on our current political system and other issues. It is set in a village.” Lamba’s favourite actor is Aishwarya Rai, whom she considered both very beautiful and hugely talented. On leading ladies wearing bold clothes on screen, Lamba replied, “We all live in a democracy and every one has a right to wear what one likes. It is just that one should feel comfortable in it, that is all.”

Vikram Phadnis: This name is not new to the world of fashion. Having been in this field for over 15 years now, Phadnis has designed clothes in nearly 500 films. He says, “Indian women look best in sarees. The style icons, as per me, presently are Sushmita Sen and Madhuri Dixit. Both these ladies look classic in sarees.”

The designer, who first started out as an choreographer will soon be directing a film. About fashion quotient the designer says, “Big cities or small, people these days are very aware of what is in and what is out.” “We are all living in a global village and information is just a click away,” adds the designer who has clothed stars like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra just to name a few…
