Being off the silver screen for so long doesn’t worry Minissha Lamba. The petite actress, who burst on the scene with Yahan , might be yahan-wahan today, but her pet peeve is something entirely different – she doesn’t like the Bob Marley song No woman, no cry.
Single and happy, Minissha says, “How could Marley ever write a song like that? And why don’t women have such a song for men? I’d rather call it No man, no cry. There are no boyfriends in my life right now and life’s rocking.â€
So there may be no men in Minissha’s life, but she certainly is in love – with beaches. She is gearing up to hit the beach for two weeks. “I’m off to Mauritius for a bit and I’m so happy to be getting out of the country.
Mauritius is going to see me turn into a mermaid as soon as I get there. I’m ready to flaunt my cute bikinis, soak up the sun and swim for miles. The seafood, massages, spas and the healthy air – I just can’t think of anything but the beach,†she says.
And in case you were wondering, this isn’t a holiday. Minissha is off for a shooting schedule to Mauritius. “Of course, all that fun on the beach will begin after I call it a day on the sets. But shooting can’t keep me away from the sea. And make no mistake – I’m no beach babe, I’m a beach bum!†says Minissha, adding, “The tan is gonna look great on me, but there’s just one little catch in the plan. I have to come back and start shooting for another film and I need to look fair again.â€
Excited about her next release Dus Kahaniyan , Minissha can’t forget the quirky character of a yakshini she played in Honeymoon Travels . “I loved the character. I also had to learn the tango for the film and it was tough. I’ve seen Dirty Dancing a hundred times but never got down to learning the dance form, as I would’ve needed a committed partner. That was kind of difficult. This dance sequence was a fantasy come true.â€
