The angelic beauty Minissha Lamba got a raw deal in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Corporate’ where she had a miniscule role. She is willing to put behind the setback and concentrating all her energies on Raj Kauhsal’s ‘Anthony Kaun Hai’. Co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, Minisha admits that she learnt to shed her inhibitions before the camera and think on her feet from Arshad. According to her Arshad got into the skin of the character with so much zeal that he constantly improvised dialogue during scenes and threw them at her impromptu.

” Arshad would say dialogues which were nowhere in the script and I was left wondering what to do. At first, I was a bit taken aback but they sounded so spontaneous that it later became a sort of mind game for both of us. I would like to match his lines with my own dialogues and responses. I’d like to think I turned out pretty spontaneous too,” she says.

Having started her acting career with Sujit Sarkar’s poetic ‘Yahaan’ with Jimmy Shergil, Lamba caught the eye of the film pundits with her understated performance. Even in ‘Corporate’ the scene where she brings her lower middle class parents to a five star hotel to have lunch saw her enacting her part with confident gumption.

It seems the cine goers are going to see a lot more of Minisha Lamba in the days to come. She will be watched with anticipated speculation as to whether she matches up to the rigorous filmi life.

Beauty is skin deep. But even if it is, it comes at a price! The ravishing beauties of Bollywood reveal the extravagances they indulge in.

While going out for shopping, the dishy dames spend a whopping amount on beauty products ranging from perfumes to skin care stuff. They admit that such things make them irresistible to loosen their purse string.

For leggy lass Bipasha Basu, a peculiar pink-bottled perfume (which she doesn’t want to name for some strange reason) is something she just can’t avoid grabbing once it’s available in the market.

Bipasha says, “I am very fond beauty products and shopping is incomplete unless I have loads of good creams and tonics. Among all these beauty products, I have special attraction for perfumes. I love to experiment with various kinds of perfumes. It ranges from all companies and prices. I buy both cheaper and as well as dearer so that I try various varieties. After all my experiments on perfumes till now, I have found pink bottled perfume as the best one. Whenever I go out to shop cosmetic products, perfumes dominate my shopping bag. It may sound strange but every time I spot a pink-perfume I just go for it.” Continue reading ‘What do hot women splurge on?’

Some men just don’t get it. Dipti Nagpaul spoke to women (and men) on the matter
Have you ever approached a woman at a party but have been turned away? Are you often unsuccessful in your attempts at getting yourself a date with the girl you have secretly admired? Have you faced humiliation for your endeavours? If yes, help’s at hand.

Most of us are not born flirts. And let’s accept it does take a while before one can learn the tips and tricks of getting ‘acquainted’ with women. Until then, one has to learn to take the humiliation in good spirit, without feeling too self-conscious. But one important thing that you need to remember is that even if it’s the first time you’re approaching a woman, there are certain dos and don’ts that you need to follow if you don’t want to completely put the girl off.

One of the most important things is your looks. No, this does not mean that you have to be a Greek God — just looking presentable is enough. Model Tapur Chatterjee feels that since the first impression is usually the last impression, it’s important to be dressed appropriately. “You don’t have to be dressed in brands, just a simple shirt and jeans would do,â€? she says. One thing that completely turns her off is tight-fitting t-shirts, especially when worn by men who don’t have a great body. “Why can’t men simply wear a shirt!â€? she exclaims.
