In an order dated December 8, customs joint commissioner R P Khandelwal has asked Lamba to pay Rs 3 lakh fine, Rs 95,000 as penalty and applicable duty to claim the jewellery worth Rs 31.32 lakh. Lamba has been asked to pay an additional penalty of Rs 10,000 on other goods like branded bags and shoes.

Her lawyer Sujay Kantawala said he would appeal before the commissioner.

On May 18, customs department stopped the actor at the airport. The department in its order said that there were “factual inaccuracies” in her claim.

Lamba said the display of the jewellery at the film festival would be an advertisement for the jewellers.

According to Bollywood Hungama’s reliable sources, Minissha Lamba has been chosen to be the brand ambassador of Dabur Vatika Hair Oil and shampoo.

The official confirmation of the same is being awaited.

A unit source revealed, “The steamy love-making scene was an integral part of the plot. The day the scene was to be shot, barring a couple of technicians, director, Anand Kumar, had instructed most of his crew members to wait outside the set as he did not want his actors, Minissha and Arshad, to be ill at ease while the scene was being canned.” But it began raining and the other unit members, waiting outside, had no option but to seek shelter on the sets.

“The director was forced to shoot the scene before the entire unit. Though Minissha, initially felt uncomfortable doing the intimate scene before many crew members, she gave her shot nevertheless.”

The agitated Minisha tweeted about the same recently, “Mahanagar Gas: needs new management. Pipeline gas app and payment made in June 2011, 2 formal complaints later, n I still don’t hv a connection.”

Hopefully, the authorities will wake up soon and take some action before the actress files a case.

“I’m totally a beach person,” said Minissha. The actress can sit for hours at the beach doing her fav things – like watching the sunset and hearing the sound of water rippling in the background. Minissha loves swimming, so any beach which allows her to indulge in her favourite hobby, is her favourite. She says, “But Maldives is my favourite and I feel I am at home when I am here.”

Set to go on floors next month, the film also stars Sunny Deol, as a Bollywood superstar. Others in the cast are Paresh Rawal, Prakash Raj and Jimmy Sheirgill. Majority of the film’s shoot will be done in Mumbai’s Film City and Whistling Woods.

A remake of the Malayalam film by the same title and directed by Rajesh Pillai, the story spans a period of 12 hours. It starts with a road accident that turns the lives of people directly or indirectly involved in it. Of the characters, one of them is a superstar (Sunny Deol), whose film is all set for the release. There is an on-duty traffic constable, a doctor who is celebrating his first wedding anniversary and an aspiring reporter on his first assignment of interviewing the superstar. How the road accident affects the lives of these characters is what the film is all about.

When Minissha arrived at the Dubai International Airport, she was asked for her lodging details. Since the actress wasn’t too sure about her hotel booking details, she made a call to someone who had come to receive her. This infuriated the officer who shouted at Minissha and asked her to sit quietly in one corner. The officer even threatened that if the actress didn’t do as he says, she would be deported.

Minissha but obviously was furious at the way she was treated by the authorities at the Dubai airport and has even planned to take this issue up with higher authorities in Mumbai once she returns.

So while the two young men fight it all out on screen, the makers have made sure that there is a definite visual appeal to the entire affair by setting a major part of the film in Goa with the backdrop of a beauty pageant.

“Since Tusshar and Shreyas play these characters who are Managers in an event management company, a beauty pageant happens to be an integral part of the storyline as well,” reveals a source attached to the film., “The Goan setting further adds on to a lot of glamour and hotness all around.”

He continues, “The entire setting is quite glamorous and beautiful with number of exciting rounds of competition, one of them being a swimsuit round. In fact the entire first half of the film is centred on this event where Minissha Lamba and Pia Trivedi are each other’s competitors.”

Well, competition or not, one looks forward to see how ‘Hum Tum Shabana’ has indeed shaped up once it releases all over on 23rd September.

Speaking on Sunday morning from Radisson Hotel in New York, the actress said: “It’s really scary out here. For 36 hours, the entire New York will have to stay indoors. A state of emergency has been declared.”

“Everyone is in their homes. As I look out of my hotel window, I see a deserted street down below. Can you imagine New York without traffic? It’s like a scene out of Armageddon.”

“I am all alone here. My stay has been extended for a week. I had no choice. The airports are shut. All flights are cancelled. Half of New York, New Jersey, Staten Island have been evacuated. I can’t return,” she said.

Curiously, just before she was to leave for New York, Minissha had been getting phone calls asking her to cancel her trip.

“Now I wonder if the caller had a premonition and was trying to warn me from travelling into catastrophe. I hope I can return the soonest possible. Maybe I should just enjoy Irene’s company. She’s my first hurricane. I believe first hurricanes are like first love. You never forget it.”
