Actress Minissha Lamba recently turned down a - hold your breath - Rs 50-lakh offer to be the face of a national talent hunt contest titled ‘Star Makers Item Bomb 2008′ only because she didn’t like the name of the show. A spokesperson for the organizers of the event Star Makers said that they had contacted Minissha to represent the project as the face and the brand ambassadress for the contest which is a Reality Show to be aired on a popular national entertainment channel.

Apparently, Minissha asked the organizers to come up with a different name for the contest as ‘Item Bomb’ sounded and felt very raunchy and down market. Reveals Minissha, “The character of Kaavya Shastri which I portray in Shauryaa is pretty much a firebrand. For her truth is the ultimate. As an investigative journalist, she has just started off her career and hence doesn’t come with an excess baggage. This time she will be seen with actor Rahul Bose in the movie Shaurya that’s based on an army officer’s life. Now, this movie seems to be somewhat similar to Minissha’s debut movie Yahaan, where she was romancing another armyman played by Jimmy Sheirgill.

The actress was also seen in Corporate. Looks like Minissha love get ‘real’ with her roles, except for the superhuman bit of course.

After creating quite an impact with her debut film, Sujit Sircar’s, YAHAAN, actress Minissha Lamba went arty with CORPORATE and commercial with ANTHONY KAUN HAI.

What do you understand by the word SHAURYA?

For me, the word SHAURYA means the presence of many positive characteristics within oneself, before commencing something courageous. SHAURYA doesn’t mean you forget all your jobs and come to the street showing off your power against something odd. Minissha Lamba has got a movie from the Yash Raj banner and she is happy for her latest achievement. Minissha will be working in the movie along with the gang of actresses that include Katerina Kaif, Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone. The sole hero in the movie will be Ranbir Kapoor.

Being off the silver screen for so long doesn’t worry Minissha Lamba. The petite actress, who burst on the scene with Yahan , might be yahan-wahan today, but her pet peeve is something entirely different – she doesn’t like the Bob Marley song No woman, no cry.

Single and happy, Minissha says, “How could Marley ever write a song like that? And why don’t women have such a song for men? I’d rather call it No man, no cry. There are no boyfriends in my life right now and life’s rocking.”

A new Bollywood love story unfolds. Or does it? But going by the look of things, it’s a sure shot.

Actors Aftab Shivadasani and Minissha Lamba walked in together at a NoBo nightclub-cum-restaurant on Saturday, post-midnight.

The couple chose a secluded spot in the club and were reportedly spotted drinking the night away and smooching in full view of other people at the club.
