Minissha excited about ”Zilla Ghaziabad”

Actress Minissha Lamba, who has been signed for the film ‘Zilla Ghaziabad’, says she is excited about the project. “Zilla Ghaziabad!! My new project, starring Sanju baba, Arshad and Vivek Oberoi..Can’t wait for it to begin,” Minissha wrote on micro-blogging site on twitter.

The film, which is being directed by Anand Kumar, is reportedly about the mafia, politics and crime in Ghaziabad.Actors Arshad Warsi, Sanjay Dutt and Vivek Oberoi would be seen in the film. While Vivek is playing the role of Satbir Gujjar, a leader of the nine crore strong Gujjar community in Uttar Pradesh, Sanjay will be seen as a zamindar from UP. Continue reading

Recently at a press conference Minissha Lamba threw caution to the wind. The actor refused to give interviews with her Bheja Fry co-star. Comedy is mostly a man’s world: Minissha

Actress Minissha Lamba, who is excited about her upcoming film ‘Bheja Fry 2′, feels male artists have an upper hand when it comes to comedy and not not many roles in this genre are written for women.

“I think comedy comes easy for women because right now there are not many roles written for women… they are mainly men-oriented. It is rightfully so as men can perform variety of jokes that don’t look nice on women”, said Minissha.

“Like obvious sexual nature or double meaning jokes, it does not look nice when women are cracking it. It works better when a male artist does it,” she said. Continue reading

Jewellery still with customs, says Minissha Lamba

Though tight-lipped about the legal proceeding, actress Minissha Lamba, who was recently detained at Mumbai airport for carrying undeclared jewellery worth Rs.50 lakh, says the jewellery is still in the possession of the customs authorities.

“It`s still on. It`s not over, unfortunately. Everything is still with customs. It`s a legal matter, I am not supposed to speak about it,” Minissha, 26, told reporters.

“At the heart of it, WELL DONE ABBA is about a father-daughter relationship in a village setup. However, I play an educated girl in the film. Shyam babu is very pro-education of girl child; this is something that he feels very strongly about. He wanted this character to be someone who stands on her own. Also, since the film is a political satire, the subject had to be handled quite carefully”, says Minissha who has mostly played a city girl in her earlier films like BACHNA AE HASEENO, KIDNAP and HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT.
